Jon Warren Promoted to Recruiting Coordinator

LANGSTON – Langston University head men's basketball coach Chris Wright has announced the latest coaching staff change for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Current assistant coach Jon Warren will additionally serve as the recruiting coordinator for the men's basketball program.

"Coach (Jon) Warren has been a huge part of our success and is very deserving of this promotion. The job he did this offseason in recruiting is second to none," head men's basketball coach Chris Wright said. "He has grown tremendously over the past four years, and I could not be more thankful for his hard work, loyalty, and friendship. He has a bright future in college coaching."

"Just a kid from Milton, Delaware, if opportunity doesn't knock, build a door," assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Jon Warren said. "I just want to thank Coach Wright for the opportunity to move up, it's been a blessing and it's only up from here. L's Up!"

Warren joined Langston University and head coach Chris Wright's staff in June 2022. He most recently completed his fourth season as an assistant under Wright. The third-year assistant also served as a team captain for three years as he played for Wright at Central Baptist College and Talladega College.

During their time together, Warren and Wright have combined for a 123-15 win-loss record in four years coaching together, three conference championships, 4 NAIA National Tournament appearances and two NAIA National Championship appearances.
