Langston Outlasts No. 13 Ottawa-Arizona on Homecoming

LANGSTON - The Langston University Lions experienced a homecoming miracle on Saturday afternoon when Xzavion Florence returned a fumble 93 yards to the endzone, sealing Langston's 44-38 comeback overtime win over 13th ranked Ottawa-Arizona.

Facing a second-and-two, Keelen Ellison forced the fumble by OUAZ's Kristopher Ewens at the Langston 15-yard line which bounced its way to the seven-yard line and into the hands of Florence who raced 93 yards for the walkoff win. 

Langston ended the first quarter trailing 21-0 to OUAZ and entered halftime down 31-17. The Lions entered the fourth behind 38-24 when Langston's Larry Harrington hit Levon Williams for a 13-yard touchdown to trim the lead 38-31 with 9:45 remaining. 

The Lions completed the comeback on the following drive which ended with Harrington hooking up with Ivory Wilright for a 23-yard touchdown. 

Harrington finished the day 24-of-41 for 385 yards with four touchdowns. The senior signal caller also picked up 67 yards with one score on the ground. Williams led all receivers with six receptions for 106 yards with one touchdown. 

Khylan Moseley led Langston on the defensive side with nine total tackles. Florence finished the day with the 93-yard fumble return for a touchdown and four total tackles.

Langston (6-1, 5-1 SAC) hosts Louisiana Christian on Saturday, Oct. 29. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
