Langston Holds Off Wayland Baptist 27-19

PLAINVIEW, Texas – The Langston University Lions closed out the regular season by knocking off the Wayland Baptist Pioneers 27-19.

The Pioneers led early 10-0 in the second quarter when the Lions countered with two touchdown passes from O'mari Milton to Levon Williams. Wayland Baptist tacked on a 50-yard field goal as the Lions lead 14-12 at halftime.

Milton tossed a 26-yard touchdown pass to Ivory Wilright and followed up with a one-yard run to move Langston ahead 27-12 at the 14:26 mark in the fourth quarter. The Pioneers tacked on one more touchdown but were unable to close the gap as Langston improved to 6-4 overall and 5-3 in the SAC with the 27-19 victory.

Milton finished 15-of-22 for 305 yards with three touchdowns; the signal caller also picked up one rushing touchdown on the day.

William led all receivers with 92 yards on three receptions with two touchdowns. Darrius Coppage and Damien Lowery both led Langston in tackled with seven apiece.
