Football Roars Past Arkansas Baptist 42-0

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Torrence Bardell tossed five touchdown passes, leading the Langston Lions to a roaring 42-0 victory over Arkansas Baptist.
 
For the second straight week Bardell threw five touchdown passes as the Lions picked up their fifth straight win to move to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
 
Levon Williams and Ivory Wilright hauled in 32-yard and 47-yard touchdown passes in the first quarter. The Lions tacked on two more touchdowns through the air, the first a three-yard touchdown to Kevin Allen and the second a 20-yard touchdown strike to John Louis to push Langston in front 27-0.
 
Bardell's final touchdown strike of the day was a 40-yard strike to David Hall to put the Lions in the driver's seat at 35-0 at halftime. Bardell finished 13-of-19 for 271 yards with five touchdowns on the day.
 
Williams led all receivers with 80 yards on four receptions with one touchdown.
 
James Grace and Armonnie Wise led the Lions in tackles with eight apiece on the night. Tre Odom and Travis Martin also registered one interception each.
 
Langston (5-2, 4-1 SAC) travels to face Ottawa-Arizona next Saturday in Surprise, Ariz. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.
