Dorsey, Lane and Caffey Pick Up SAC Awards

OKLAHOMA CITY – Langston University picked up three of the Oklahoma Ford Dealers Sooner Athletic Conference track and field athlete of the week honors for the period ending on April 21, 2024.

Women's field athlete of the week: Ahmia Dorsey

Dorsey claimed second place in the Triple Jump at the Tabor College Invitational with a jump of 11.04m. Her distance in the event is currently second in the SAC. Dorsey also earned an eighth-place finish in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.71m, which is eighth best in the conference this spring.

Men's track athlete of the week: Gabriel Lane

Lane took second place in the 100-meter dash at the Tabor College Invitational with a time of 10.75. Lane's time in the event put him at No. 6 in the SAC as he will look to qualify for the NAIA National Meet this coming weekend at the SAC Championships.

Men's field athlete of the week: Kendall Caffey

Caffey earned a podium finish in the Triple Jump as he finished third in the event with a jump of 13.31m. Caffey is currently fourth in the SAC going into the championships. Caffey also finished seventh in the Long Jump with a leap of 6.21m and is currently eighth in the event in the SAC.
