Lions Roar Past Arkansas Baptist on Homecoming

LANGSTON – Aden Hooper tossed a season-high three touchdowns, leading the Langston Lions to a 48-14 homecoming victory over the Arkansas Baptist Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon at W.E. Anderson Stadium.

Langston got the game rolling when Hooper hit Dylan Wroblewski for a 30-yard touchdown strike to put the Lions in front 7-0. The Lions tacked on three more scores in the second quarter, the first a 10-yard pass touchdown from Hooper to Janeal Langley followed by a 13-yard touchdown run from Charles Carter and one-yard touchdown from True Booker.

Aiden Thomas collected his first special teams' touchdown when he returned a kickoff 82 yards for the touchdown with 5:35 remaining in the third quarter. DaMariyea Hamilton added a 39-yard touchdown run in the third and Hooper hit Devan Calvin for a 38-yard strike at the 8:47 mark in the fourth quarter.

Hooper finished the day 14-of-29 for 165 yards with three touchdowns and Booker anchored the ground game with 82 yards on 16 carries with one score. Janeal Langley led all receivers with four receptions for 73 yards and one touchdown.

Defensively, Khylan Moseley led the way with 11 tackles and one sack.

Langston (2-4, 2-2 SAC) heads to Plainview, Texas to take on Wayland Baptist on Saturday, October 18th. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
