Langston University 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame Class Announced

LANGSTON – The Langston University Department of Athletics is pleased to announce this year's inductees into the Langston University Athletic Hall of Fame. Potential candidates were submitted and reviewed by a panel that includes current Langston University faculty and staff and former Langston University alumni, faculty and staff.

Inductees are listed in alphabetical order.

David Calloway
David Calloway attended and played at Langston University from 1993-1997 as a member of the football team and during his time as a Lion established himself as a defensive standout. Calloway's honors include being named the 1996 Don Hansen National Weekly Football NAIA First Team All-American, 1996 All-Oklahoma Intercollegiate First Team, 1995 Black College Sports Honorable Mention All-American, 1995 All-OIC Second Team Defense, 1994 All-OIC Second Team Defense and being a member of the 1993 and 1994 OIC Conference Champions.

Tony Cotton
Tony Cotton attended and played at Langston University from 2006-2010 as a member of the football team. During his time suiting up for the Lions, Cotton emerged as one of the top tight ends in the NAIA with his honors including being named 2008 CSFL All-Conference Second Team, 2009 and 2010 CSFL All-Conference First Team, 2009 HBCU All-American and 2010 NAIA All-American Honorable Mention.

Willie Felder
Willie Felder attended and ran track for Langston University from 2007-2010. Felder is a six-time NAIA Track and Field All-American in the 4X400 indoor relay, 4X100 relay, 4X400 relay and the long jump. He currently holds the school record in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.21 and was part of the outdoor 4x400 meter relay team that finished second in the NAIA with a time of 3:08 which is also a school record. Felder won the individual RRAC Champions in the 110m hurdles (2009, 2010), 400m hurdles (2008, 2009, 2010) and the long jump (2010).

James 'Bullet' Hall
James Hall attended and ran track at Langston University from 2005-2008. He finished his track career as a two-time NAIA All-American in the 4X400 indoor relay and 4x100 relay and is the former indoor 200-meter school record holder. Additionally, Hall was a member of the track squads that won the Red River Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2005 and 2008 and he finished as a RRAC Champion in the 200-meter run, 4X100 relay and 4X400 relay in 2008.

Cayetano Hingle
Cayetano Hingle attended and played at Langston University from 2008-2012 as a member of the football team. Hingle set the school record in tackles (277) over the course of his Lion career and racked up nine interceptions, 22 tackles for loss, two defensive touchdowns and five sacks. For his efforts, Hingle was named back-to-back to the 2010 and 2011 CSFL All-Conference first team, the 2011 HBCU Black College Football Defensive Player of the Year and the 2011 HBCU Black College Football First Team All-American.

Sonya Roundtree
Sonya Roundtree attended and ran track at Langston University from 1985-1989 and was a member of the Langston University women's track and field team that fielded nine student athletes that claimed the District-9 Track and Field Conference Championship that are commonly referred to as the Divine 9. Roundtree was a vital part, running the third leg of the 4X100 relay that placed first in the District-9 Track and Field Conference Championship. At the conclusion of her career, Roundtree held a top 3 record spot in the 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles and 100m dash and the top record spot as a member of the 4X100 relay team in 1988 and the 4X200 relay team in 1988.

Tim Whitfield
Tim Whitfield attended and played at Langston University from 2015-2019 as a member of the football team. During his time at Langston, Whitfield amassed 2,159 rushing yards in his Langston career and established Langston marks for the single-season rushing yardage (1,301), single-season rushing touchdowns (20) and career touchdowns (33). He was also named SAC Offensive Player of the Year (2019), SAC All-Conference First Team (2019) CSFL All-Conference Second Team (2017) and was named AP All-American Second Team (2019).

The Langston University Athletic Hall of Fame has been created to honor and recognize those individuals involved with Langston University's Department of Athletics who distinguished themselves through outstanding achievement in intercollegiate competition and personal endeavors. 
 
The Hall of Fame recognizes athletes, former coaches, athletic department personnel, alumni, teams, coaches and/or sports professionals who through leadership and character have made exceptional contributions to the honor and prestige of Langston University in the field of athletics as well as those who have rendered extraordinary service, leadership and/or support contributing directly to the success of student-athletes within the Langston University Department of Athletics. 
 
These awards are presented to individuals who have continued to demonstrate in their daily lives the values imparted through intercollegiate athletics.  A minimum of five years must have passed since their last collegiate competition.
