Davin Hawkins is set to start his first season as the tight ends coach at Langston University and will also serve as the special teams assistant.

Prior to Hawkins coming to Langston University, Hawkins served as the defensive backs coach and strength and conditioning coach at Glenwood High school in Phenix City, Ala. in the fall of 2016. That season Glenwood finished 8-4 and made it to the semifinals in the 3A state playoffs.

That spring Hawkins played linebacker for the Columbus Lions in the National Arena League; the Lions finished 13-0 and won the National Arena League championship.

Hawkins played collegiately at the University of South Alabama, where he lettered at linebacker, safety and tight end.

During his junior season at South Alabama, he interned at McGill-Toolen High School where he coached the defensive backs. In his lone season at McGill-Toolen they made it to the state championship game.

Hawkins received his undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary studies with a focus in Business Administration. He hails from Gadsden, Ala. and is a graduate from Etowah High School.
