Alejandra Rivas enters her first season in Fall 2017 as a graduate assistant for the Langston University volleyball program.

Prior to her arrival at LU, Rivas played collegiately at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Okla. where she totaled 1,384 kills, 279 assists, 108 serving aces, 103 blocking assists and 1,557 digs. She graduated from OKWU with a degree in Elementary Education and minors in Pyschology and Youth Ministry. Rivas will be pursuing a Master's Degree in Urban Education in her time at Langston University.

Rivas was born and raised in C.d. Juarez, Mexico and started playing volleyball at the age of five while attending several state and National tournaments growing up. She attended middle and high school at Lydia Patterson in El Paso, Texas where she was able to earn a scholarship to attend and play for OKWU.
