Calvin Humphrey attended Langston University from 1972-1976 and was a member of the men's basketball team that qualified for the NAIA playoffs every season. During his time at Langston, Humphrey was named Langston University Freshman of the Year, Team MVP and First-Team All-Conference and ended up leading the nation in overall field goal percentage.Â

After leaving Langston, Humphrey served in the United States Army and went on to become an assistant warden and life coach in the prison system. Additionally, he also served as a teacher and basketball coach throughout his time in Miami, Florida.Â
