Women's Basketball Routs Kansas Christian to Open Season

Box Score OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Langston Lady Lions opened their season with a blowout win over Kansas Christian 77-50 on Tuesday night.

Asheika Alexander paced Langston with 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting and grabbed seven boards and seven steals in the process. Richelle Turney also finished in double digits with 14 points.

Collectively, the Lady Lions hit 32 percent (15-of-47) from the field and held Kansas Christian to 32 percent (16-of-50) and forced 34 turnovers on the night.

Langston (1-0) hosts Bacone College on Thursday evening, Oct. 28 at C.F. Gayles Field House. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
