Women's Basketball Tame Tigers 83-59

McPHERSON, Kan. – Three players scored in double figures as Langston University cruised by the Central Christian Lady Tigers 83-59 on Tuesday evening.

Leading 21-20 at the conclusion on the first quarter, the Lady Lions outscored Central Christian 20-12 and 23-15 in the second and third quarters respectively to lead 64-47 entering the fourth. The victory pushes the Lady Lions winning streak to five as they move to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Asheika Alexander led Langston in scoring with 21 points; Alanna Spencer added 14 and Grace Williams finished with 13 points. Talia Edwards tallied double digits in rebounds with 11.

Langston (8-1, 3-0 SAC) hosts Wayland Baptist on Thursday inside C.F. Gayles Field House. Opening tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
