Langston Routs MACU 95-52

OKLAHOMA CITY – Six players scored in double figures as the Langston University Lions knocked off the Mid-America Christian Evangels 95-52 on Wednesday evening at the Gaulke Activity Center.

The Lions surged to a 39-19 halftime advantage behind a stifling defense that held the MACU offense to 27 percent from the field (five-of-18) and one-of-eight from three-point range in the first half. On the flipside the Lions knocked down 43 percent (13-of-30) and finished eight-of-13 at the free throw line.

The second half was much of the same tale, MACU improved to 40 percent (10-of-25), but the Lions countered with hitting 55 percent (16-of-29), connecting on 22-of-24 free throw attempts and forcing 12 turnovers. Langston improves to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and snapped an eight-game losing to MACU dating back to the 2017-18 season.

Anthony White led all scorers with 22 points on eight-of-13 shooting in 25 minutes of action. Tristan Harper finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds and D'Monte Brown added 12 points. Chereef Knox and A.J. Rainey both tallied 11 points apiece and Cortez Mosley rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10.

Langston (3-0, 1-0 SAC) returns to court on Saturday to host Southwestern Christian. Tip-off is set for 3:45 p.m.
