Lady Lions Halts Golden Eagles 81-74

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – A pivotal fourth quarter turned the tide for the Langston Lady Lions as they knocked off the John Brown University Golden Eagles 81-74 on Saturday at Bill George Arena.

The Golden Eagles took the lead at the 9:14 mark in the fourth following back-to-back free throws from Maci Mains, after trailing by as much as 21 points in the second quarter to Langston.

Not to be outdone, the Lady Lions roared back with a 14-3 scoring run to put them in front 79-69 at the 4:35 mark in the fourth quarter. JBU was unable to get closer than seven points the rest of the way as Langston improved to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Kameron Shelley led Langston in scoring with 19 points, Anyia Pride added 16 and Koreea Kirksey chipped in 12.

Langston (9-2, 4-1 SAC) hosts Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday, Dec. 10. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
