Lady Lions Falls in DH to Bethel College

LANGSTON – The Langston University softball team fell short in doubleheader action versus the Bethel College Threshers on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Lions trailed 2-1 entering the bottom of the fifth when Rachel Miller and Shadie Davis both launched home runs to push Langston in front 5-2. The Threshers answered with four runs on five hits in the top of the seventh to pull in front in the eventual 6-5 victory over Langston.

In the finale both squads came out swinging, posting a combined 25 runs on 31 hits. Ultimately, the Threshers were able to squeeze by with the win due to the game being called early due to lighting.

Madison Slater finished three-for-four with one triple, three RBIs and two runs scored; Miller picked up her second homerun of the day, finishing two-for-two with two RBIs.

Jordan Wilson took the start in game two and tosses three innings, allowing nine runs with two strikeouts. McKenzie Connor pitched in relief, allowing thee runs on eight hits in three innings.

Langston (3-3) returns to the mound on Saturday, Feb. 19 versus Haskell Indian Nations. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
