Men's Basketball Falls 85-84 to Southwestern Christian

BETHANY – Four players scored in double figures, but the Langston Lions fell just short 85-84 at Southwestern Christian on Thursday evening.

The Lions trailed 50-31 entering halftime but rallied to within one point at 83-82 following two free throws from Carlos Coppage. Following a quick bucket by the Eagles, Langston's Jamal Clifton trimmed the lead once again to one point after hitting back-to-back free throws to make it 85-84 with seven seconds remaining.

Following missed free throws by the Eagles, the Lions were able to get one final shot off by Clifton as time expired that fell short.

La'Corian Ballard finished with twenty-two points, Coppage added sixteen and Nasir Watson finished with fifteen. Clifton managed to haul in a double-double with eighteen points and ten boards.

Langston hosts Mid-America Christian to close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m.
