Lady Lions Fall in SAC Quarterfinal to USAO

CHICKASHA – The Langston University Lady Lions fell short 92-61 on Friday evening in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinal.

USAO led early, building a 23-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Lions battled back in the second quarter before trailing 46-30 entering halftime; they were unable to turn the tide in the second half and dropped to 19-11 overall.

Talia Edward led Langston in scoring with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Asheika Alexander added 12 points and 13 rebounds and Adia Rogers chipped in 10 points on the night.

Langston (19-11) now awaits to see if they've earned an at-large bid to the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship Opening Rounds. The tournament bids are scheduled to announced next week.
