Langston Lions Tame Stallions 40-0

STAFFORD, Texas – The Langston Lions continued their winning ways, shutting out North American University 40-0 on Saturday night, pushing their win streak to four games.

Following a scoreless first quarter the Lions struck first, courtesy of the defense with a safety at the 11:57 mark in the second quarter.

Tyler Travis scored the game's first touchdown, a five-yard run, that capped a 14-play, 80-yard drive with 6:32 remaining in the second quarter. The Lions closed out the half with one more score, this time Torrence Bardell hit D'Heaven Domena for an 18-yard touchdown pass to enter halftime in front 16-0.

The third quarter featured another defense safety and two additional touchdowns. Bardell picked up his second touchdowon pass of the day, hitting Bryon Hanspard for a seven-yard score and Domena tacked on a six-yard run to build Langston's lead to 32-0 entering the fourth quarter.

The final scoring play came in the air once more when Levon Williams hauled in a 14-yard strike from Bardell.

Bardell finished the day 17-of-28 for 178 yards with three touchdowns. Williams led all receivers with six recepitons for 72 yards and one score.

Defensively, Damien Lowery tallied 14 total tackles, nine solo with four tackles for loss on the day.

Langston (4-2, 3-1 SAC) is back in action on Saturday, October 21st for homecoming. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at W.E. Anderson Stadium.
