Lady Lions Roll OKWU in Season Opener

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Three players scored in double figures and ten players scored as the Langston Lady Lions rolled Oklahoma Wesleyan 63-44 to open the season on Friday night.

The Lady Lions jumped out of the gate, outscoring OKWU 19-3 in the first quarter and 13-10 in the second to lead 32-18 at halftime. Langston led by as many as 21 points in the second half as they moved to 1-0 on the young season.

Kameron Shelley led Langston in scoring with 15, Kamesha Moore added 13 and Hailey Jordan finished with 12. For the game, Langston hit 39 percent (25-of-63) from the field, outrebounded the Eagles 44-24 and forced 14 turnovers.

Langston (1-0) turns their attention to the Coyote Classic hosted by Kansas Wesleyan in Salina, Kan. The Lady Lions will face Bethany College on Friday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. and Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m.
