Volleyball Edged at Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Langston Lady Lions battled valiantly but fell 3-1 (13-25, 25-22, 19-25, 14-25) to Oklahoma City University on Saturday in Sooner Athletic Conference action.

After dropping the opening set 25-13, the Lady Lions rallied with a 25-22 set two victory. Tied at 22-22, the Lady Lions picked up a kill from Lauren Collier and back-to-back attacking errors from OCU to tie the game at 1-1.

The Stars countered with 25-19 and 25-14 victories in sets three and four.

Collier finished with a team-high eight kills, Ashaqwaye McThomas tallied 20 assists and Leah McCall registered 15 digs.

Langston (1-24, 0-18 SAC) travels to face Central Christian on Tuesday in McPherson, Kan.. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
