No. 4 Langston Defeats HINU 81-69

FREMONT, Neb. – Four players scored in double figures as the No. 4 Langston University Lions knocked off Haskell Indian Nations University 81-69 on day two of the Midland University Thanksgiving Classic.

The Lions led HINU 38-31 at halftime and pushed their lead to as much as 15 at 64-49 with 9:27 remaining. Haskell mounted a comeback and worked their way within four with five minutes left, but the Lions held them at bay the rest of the way.

Cortez Mosley led Langston in scoring with 17 points. Jay Allen-Tovar added 13, D'Monte Brown chipped in 12 and Toru Dean finished with 10 on the night.

Collectively, Langston hit 46 percent (26-of-56) from the field and knocked down 22-of-27 free throw attempts.

Langston (5-0) opens Sooner Athletic Conference play on Thursday, Nov. 30. The Lions host Oklahoma City University at home with a tipoff time set for 7:45 p.m.
