No. 3 Langston Routs SAGU 86-55

LANGSTON – Three players scored in double figures as the No. 3 Langston Lions knocked off Southwestern Assemblies of God 86-55 on Saturday afternoon at C.F. Gayles Field House.

SAGU led 14-13 at the 12:21 mark in the first half before Langston went on a 16-4 scoring, taking control at 29-18 with 6:23 remaining until halftime. The Lions led 41-28 at halftime and continued to turn up the pressure in the second half, leading by as many as 32 points with 2:46 remaining.

Langston remains unbeaten at 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Lions are now 4-0 historically versus SAGU since head coach Chris Wright took the helm. The victory also gave Wright his 250th career victory, he is now 250-103 in career wins and losses.

Anthony Roy led the Lions in scoring with 23 points on seven-of-12 shooting including four three-pointers. Ronald Mitchell added 19 on the night and Toru Dean chipped in 17.

Langston (8-0, 3-0) hosts Central Christian at home on Thursday, Dec. 14. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m. at C.F. Gayles Field House.
