No. 5 Langston Knocks Off SAGU 84-60 in Regular Season Finale

LANGSTON – Three players scored in double figures as the No. 5 Langston Lions wrapped up the regular season with an 84-60 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God on Saturday evening at C.F. Gayles Field House.

The Lions came out strong in the opening half, building a 33-25 halftime lead after hitting 39 percent (11-of-28) from the field and holding SAGU to 38 percent (10-of-26). Following intermission, the Lions came out stronger, outscoring SAGU 51-35 to complete the season sweep of SAGU.

D'Monte Brown tallied a season-high 26 points and 13 rebounds to anchor the Lions. Tristan Harper finished with 18 points and Toru Dean tallied 17 points and a team-high six assists.

Langston finishes the regular season at 26-2 overall which eclipses the highest win total since the 2015-16 season when the Lions finished the season at 25-7 overall. The Lions will now turn their attention to the SAC Men's Basketball tournament set to begin on Thursday, Feb. 23 with times and opponent TBA.
