BETHANY, Okla. – The Langston Lady Lions fell short 3-1 (8-25, 27-25, 15-25, 21-25) to Southwestern Christian on Saturday in Sooner Athletic Conference action.

After dropping the opening 25-8, the Lady Lions rebounded with a 27-25 set two victory. Tied at 25-25, Karma Williams picked up the 26th set point for Langston and the Lady Lions closed out set two after I'mani Pollard and Brooklyn Cross blocked an attacking Paige McGee.

The Eagles countered with 25-15 and 25-21 victories in sets three and four, sealing the victory.

Lauren Collier led Langston with 10 kills, Ashaqwaye McThomas registered 23 assists and Leah McCall posted a team-high 21 digs.

Langston (1-16, 0-10 SAC) hosts Southwestern Assemblies of God on Friday, October 6. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
