Lady Lions Knock Off OPSU 71-42

GOODWELL, Okla. – Hailey Jordan scored a team-high 19 points, leading the Langston University Lady Lions past Oklahoma Panhandle State 71-42 on Thursday night.

The victory pushes the Lady Lions current win streak to eight games and to an overall record of 14-2 and 9-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Lady Lions are off to their best start since the 2014-15 season when Langston started 16-0.

Jordan finished nine-of-17 from the field in 30 minutes of work. Makayla Transou finished second on the team in scoring with 16 and Shae Routt pumped in 15.

Overall, Langston knocked down 43 percent (26-of-60), six-of-17 from three-point range and finished 13-of-17 from free throw range. The Lady Lions clamped down on the OPSU attack, holding the Aggies to 35 percent (14-of-40) and forcing 22 turnovers.


Langston (14-2, 9-1 SAC) is back on the road to Plainview, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 20. The Lady Lions face Wayland Baptist at 2 p.m.
