No. 2 Langston Defeats MACU 79-60

OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 2 Langston University Lions pushed their winning streak to 12 games after knocking off Mid-America Christian 79-60 on Thursday night.

The Lions held a slim 38-32 halftime advantage before turning up the heat in the second half. Langston opened the second half on a quick 8-3 scoring to push their advantage to 46-35 at the 17:05 mark; the Evangels worked their way within nine points at the 14:47 mark in the second half but never got closer.

Langston improves to 12-0 overall and 6-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Ronald Mitchell, Jr. led the way for the Lions attack with 19 points on seven-of-12 shooting including four-of-seven from three-point range. Anthony Roy, G'Quavious Lennox and Toru Dean also notched double figures with 18, 14 and 11 points apiece.

The No. 2 ranked Lions (12-0, 6-0) host Southwestern Christian at home on Saturday, Jan. 6. Game time is set for 3:45 p.m.
