Lady Lions Roll Nelson University 66-40

WAXAHACHIE, Texas – Mattie Boyd scored a season-high 21 points as the Langston Lady Lions dispatched Nelson University 66-40 on Saturday.
 
The Lady Lions jumped out to a commanding 19-4 lead after one quarter of play. The first quarter deficit proved to be too much for Nelson University as they were unable to get closer than 12 points the rest of the way. Langston led by as much as 30 points and improved to 10-1 overall and 6-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
 
The 10-1 mark under head coach Chris Vincent is the best start for Langston since the 2014-15 season when the Lady Lions started the season 16-0 and finished 28-4 overall.
 
Boyd finished the game eight-of-nine on the night; Diamond Richardson finished second on the team in scoring with 14 points overall.
 
Collectively, the Lady Lions hit 37 percent (23-of-63) overall and finished 13-of-14 from the free throw line.
 
Langston (10-1, 6-1 SAC) returns to action on Thursday, December 12th at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
