No. 2 Langston Defeats USAO 73-60, Prep for SAC Tournament

CHICKASHA, Okla. – Three players scored in double figures as the No. 2 Langston University Lions closed out the regular season with a 73-60 victory over the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Saturday night.

Langston never trailed in Saturday's contest and led by as much as 17 points as they finished the regular season with a 27-1 record and 21-1 mark in conference play. Since leading the men's basketball program, head coach Chris Wright has led the Lions to an impressive 58-4 win-loss record and 41-3 mark in conference play.

Anthony Roy led Langston in scoring with 16 points, Cortez Mosley added 12 and D'monte Brown finished with 10. On the night the Lions hit 53 percent (27-of-51) overall and converted on 12-of-17 free throw attempts.

The Lions (27-1) have clinched the SAC regular season title and now begin their quest for the SAC tournament title with the opening round set to begin on Thursday, Feb. 29. By virtue of finishing atop the final regular season SAC standings, Langston hosts eighth-seeded Central Christian on Thursday, Feb. 29 at 8 p.m.
