No. 2 Langston Knocks Off UNT-Dallas 72-51

DALLAS, Texas – The No. 2 ranked Langston University Lions returned to the win column on Saturday evening, knocking off the UNT-Dallas Trailblazers 72-51.  

Anthony Roy led Langston in scoring with 17 points and Toru Dean finished second on the team in scoring with 12 points total. The Lions are now 20-1 overall and 14-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The Lions came out strong on the defensive side in the first half, holding the Trailblazers attack to 26 percent (seven-of-26) and forced 11 turnovers on their way to building a 35-19 halftime lead. The Lions continued to pour it on in the second half, leading by as many as 28 points in the eventual 72-51 victory.

Langston (20-1, 14-1 SAC) returns home next Thursday to host Mid-America Christian. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m.
