Lady Lions Knock Off Central Christian 3-1

McPHERSON, Kan. – The Langston University Lady Lions moved back into the win column with a 3-1 victory over Central Christian in Sooner Athletic Conference action on Tuesday evening.

The Lady Lions picked up the early lead after winning the opening set 28-26. The Tigers countered with a set two victory at 25-20 to tie the game at 1-1.

In the third set, Langston roared out to a 13-4 advantage following a Central Christian service error. The Lady Lions went onto seal the third set 25-19. In the final frame, the Lady Lions built a commanding 12-6, leading by as many as seven points in the eventual 25-19 set four victory.

Lauren Collier led the way with 11 kills and Meagan Anderson tallied 22 assists. Anderson also led the team in digs with nine.

Langston (2-9, 1-2 SAC) travels to face the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Okla. on Friday, September 13th. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
