Langston Lady Lions Halt MACU 62-55

OKLAHOMA CITY – Four players scored in double figures as the Langston University Lady Lions held off the Mid-America Christian Evangels 62-55 on Monday evening at the Gaulke Activity Center.
 
Tied at 13-13 at the conclusion of the first, the Lady Lions used a pivotal 20-12 second quarter to surge into halftime up 33-25. Langston led by as much as 11 in the second half as they improved to 17-1 overall and 13-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
 
The Lady Lions under first-year head coach Chris Vincent remain atop the SAC standings and are off to their best start since the 2014-15 season when Langston started the year at 20-1 and finished 28-4.
 
Mikayla Woods led Langston with 20 points and 11 boards, Jordynn Conner added 12, Jordan Brown finished with 11 and Ruth Sodipe added 10 on the night.
 
Langston (17-1, 13-1 SAC) returns to C.F. Gayles Field House on Thursday, Jan. 23 to host the College of the Ozarks. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
