No. 18 Langston Halts Oklahoma City 82-70

LANGSTON – Mario McKinney scored 18 points to lead No. 18 Langston University passed Oklahoma City University 82-70 on Thursday evening.
 
The Lions roared to life in the first half, holding the Stars to 33 percent (eight-of-24) as Langston built a 42-24 halftime advantage. Langston led by as much as 24 points in the second half as they moved to 17-5 overall and 13-5 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
 
Collectively, Langston hit 49 percent (27-of-55) overall and finished 22-of-28 from the free throw line. McKinney finished with 18 on eight-of-13 shooting, Joshua Smith added 12, Jamison Epps chipped in with 11 and Bryce Monroe pumped in 10 on the night.
 
Langston (17-5, 13-5 SAC) returns home to host UNT-Dallas on Thursday, Feb. 6 at C.F. Gayles Field House. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
