No. 4 Langston Rolls Falcons 70-45 in Season Opener

LANGSTON – The No. 4 ranked Langston University Lions started their season off with a bang, trouncing Florida College 70-45 on Friday evening at C.F. Gayles Field House.

The Lions came out strong in the first half, shooting 44 percent (12-of-27) and holding the Falcons offensive attack to 26 percent (five-of-19), building a 32-20 halftime lead. It was the same story in the second half as the Lions built a 27-point lead following free throws from Omar Henry. Friday night's victory marks the fourth-straight season opening victory under head coach Chris Wright.

Marcedus Leech, Jr led Langston in scoring with 12 points and Treshawn Cody added 10 on the night.

Langston (1-0) will take part in the Tulsa Challenge and face Saint Mary (Kan.) on Friday, October 31st at 5:30 p.m. The Lions are back home on Friday, November 7th versus Texas A&M-Texarkana.
