Women's Basketball Ranked No. 10 in NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After two weeks of play, the first regular-season Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll is here. The top 8 teams remained largely the same with the exception of a flip between four and five with Marian (Ind.) and Dakota State (S.D.). The only other team outside of the Top 8 to remain at the same rank was Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).

The Langston University women's basketball team entered the top ten in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll for the first time in a decade, the national office announced. Langston is currently undefeated at 3-0 and ranked 10th overall with 348 votes. They are the highest rated team in the Sooner Athletic Conference and are ranked in the top 10 of the NAIA Top 25 for the first time since the 2014-15 season when the Lady Lions were ranked 10th on February 17, 2015.

The Lady Lions return to action on Saturday, November 15th at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas.

Poll Methodology
  • The national poll is for publicity purposes only and does not influence the selection process for national championship consideration.
  • A panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) votes in the poll.
  • The Top 25 teams are selected using a points-based system:
    • 30 points for a 1st-place vote, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd, and so on.
  • The highest and lowest rankings received by each team are discarded before final tallying.
  • Teams receiving only one point are not listed as "receiving votes."
  • For the Preseason Poll, there is no "previous ranking" column since it is the initial poll and differs from the prior rating system.
