No. 21 Langston Roars Past USAO in Regular Season Finale

LANGSTON – Five players scored in double figures as the No. 21 Langston Lions closed out the regular season in strong fashion, defeating the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma 88-74 on Saturday evening.

The Lions roared out of the game, building a 12-1 lead to start the game and pushed their lead to as much as 17 before leading 41-34 at halftime. Langston pushed their lead to as much as 18 in the second half following a bucket by Jamison Epps to make it 88-70 with 1:46 remaining.

Langston pushes their win streak to three games and concludes the regular season at 21-7. The victory marks the third-straight season of 21 wins under head coach Chris Wright.

Bryce Monroe led Langston in scoring with 18 points, Mario McKinney added 15 and Amoro Lado finished with 14. Epps tallied his fifth double-double on the season with 14 points and 13 boards, Kamron Brice rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.

Langston (21-7) turns their attention to the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament, which is slated to begin on Thursday, Feb. 27. Game time and matchups are TBD.
