No. 19 Langston Rolls By Nelson University

LANGSTON – The No. 19 Langston University Lady Lions rolled Nelson University 81-58 on Saturday inside historic C.F. Gayles Fiel House to improve to 23-1 overall and 19-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. 
 
Following a tight first quarter which saw the Lady Lions leading 18-15, Langston began to pull away in the second quarter by outscoring Nelson University 24-7 to lead 42-22 at halftime. Langston by as many as 26 points in the second half as they pushed their current winning streak to 19 games on the season. The Lady Lions are currently off to their best start since the 2007-08 season when the Langston Lady Lions under former head coach Donnita Drain-Rogers finished 31-2. 
 
Mikayla Woods led Langston with 20 points and 10 boards, Jordan Brown added 17 and Diamond Richardson chipped in 14. 
 
No. 19 Langston (23-1, 19-1 SAC) hits the road to Fort Worth, Texas to face Texas Wesleyan on Monday, Feb. 10. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
