Women's Basketball Earns No. 4 seed in NAIA National Tournament

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Langston University Lady Lions begin their quest for a national championship after being selected to the NAIA Men's Basketball Championship tournament field.

The 64-team bracket will begin with the first and second rounds at host sites nationwide on Friday, March 14. The 16 winners at each of these sites will advance to the 2025 NAIA National Championship Final Site in Sioux City, Iowa at the 44th annual NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, March 20-25.

The Lady Lions, selected to the Naismith Quadrant, earned a No. 4 seed and will serve as hosts at Langston University. In their pod of four teams includes No. 5 seed Dakota Wesleyan, No. 12 seed The Master's (Calif.) and No. 13 seed Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.).

Langston will be making their 16th appearance overall at the NAIA National Tournament and first with first-year head coach Chris Vincent at the helm.

The tournament schedule for the Lions is as follows.

March 14 | Game One – 6 pm CT
Langston (Okla.) vs Blue Montain Christian (Miss.)

March 14 | Game Two – 8 pm CT
Dakota Wesleyan vs The Master's (Calif.)

March 15 | Game Three – 7 pm CT
Game One winner vs Game Two winner

This year's First Round field includes 35 automatic qualifiers and 29 at-large selections. Automatic berths were given to teams that either won their respective conference tournament title or regular season championship, finished runner-up at the conference tournament or were otherwise selected by the conference. The NAIA Women's Basketball National Selection Committee determined the at-large bids. The selection committee consists of one representative from each geographical area and six at-large members comprised of coaches and administrators from around the country.
