No. 19 Langston Outlasts Southwestern Christian

LANGSTON – Alyssa Parmer and Janiyah Tucker tallied double digit figures, leading No. 19 Langston past Southwestern Christian 58-51 on Saturday afternoon.

Langston led early following a 15-9 first quarter advantage and held serve the rest of the way. The Lady Lions led by as much as 12 points following a bucket by Natalya Jones at the 4:56 mark in the fourth quarter to make it 52-40 in favor of Langston.

The victory pushes Langston to 14-2 overall and 8-2 in the SAC. The Lady Lions remain in a three-way battle for first place in the conference standings with USAO and Nelson University.

Collectively, the Lady Lions shot 30 percent (20-of-66) and finished 15-of-25 from the free throw line.

Langston (14-2, 8-2 SAC) is back in action on Thursday, Jan. 15 versus the College of the Ozarks. Game time is set for 6 p.m. inside C.F. Gayles Field House.
