Lady Lions Roll Past Southwestern Christian 75-48

BETHANY – Two players scored in double figures as the Langston University Lady Lions pushed their winning streak to 11 games with a 75-48 victory over Southwestern Christian on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Lions held a 20-11 advantage at the end of the first quarter and surged ahead by outscoring the Eagles 14-9 and 15-8 in the second and third quarters. Langston led by as much as 24 points as they improved to 19-2 overall and 13-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Janiyah Tucker finished with 19 points and Layla Curry added 16. Collectively, the Lady Lions shot 23-of-55 from the field and hit 25-of-30 free throw attempts.

Langston (19-2, 13-2 SAC) travels to face Mid-America Christian on Thursday, Feb. 5. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
