No. 20 Langston Lady Lions Fall to Golden Eagles

LANGSTON – Two players scored in double figures, but the No. 20 Langston Lions fell short 64-62 to John Brown University on Saturday afternoon inside C.F. Gayles Field House.

The Golden Eagles came firing in the first half, hitting 13-of-26 shots including a six-of-11 mark from three-point range to build a 35-24 halftime advantage.

Langston worked their way back within three after Germari Harris knocked down a three-pointer at the 6:52 mark in the fourth to make it 51-48 in favor of JBU. The Lady Lions were unable to get closer than three the rest of the way as they moved to 23-3 overall and 17-3 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The Lady Lions remain in first place in the SAC standings with two games remaining in the regular season.

Areyanna Hunter finished with 15 points and De'Asia Thomas added 12.

Langston (23-3, 17-3 SAC) is back in action at home on Thursday, Feb. 19 versus Texas Wesleyan. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
