Chris Vincent was named the Langston University head women's basketball coach in June 2024. Vincent most recently served as the assistant coach for the Langston University men's basketball program under current head coach Chris Wright. During his short time on Coach Wright's staff the men's basketball program has experience unparalleled success which includes the 2023-24 NAIA National Championship runner-up finish, back-to-back Sooner Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships and boasting a 66-5 mark during that time.
Prior to his arrival at Langston, Vincent joined longtime NCAA Division I Assistant Anthony Q Anderson for the inaugural season at the University of Fort Lauderdale. In UFTL's first season as a program the Eagles saw great success winning 15 games including a top 10 win on the road at #7 Warner University. Fort Lauderdale qualified for the NCCAA national tournament as a first year program and reached the Sweet 16. Vincent was instrumental in recruiting multiple players to South Florida, individual workouts and conducting every scouting report throughout the season.
Before heading to the University of Fort Lauderdale, Vincent was on staff at the University of Southern Miss under Jay Ladner where he conducted scouts for all opponents throughout the year, coordinating with assigned assistants. He managed individual workouts, one on one meetings with players for player development. Vincent managed team film sessions for practices and games, and he maintained Southern Mississippi's recruiting database.
Vincent had a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Miami Dade College, where he had eight players sign to Division I schools and developed 11 All-Southern Conference performers. The program also saw an eight-win increase during his time. During his second season Miami Dade had multiple top 25 wins and two top 10 wins over #5 Tallahassee and #8 Gulf Coast State.
Vincent was in the Ivy League ranks for three years as Yale's Director of Basketball Operations under one of arguably the best coaches in the country in James Jones. The Bulldogs made the 2016 NCAA Tournament, where they knocked off No. 3-seed Baylor and finished 23-7 (13-1 in conference play) before losing to Duke 71-64 to head to the Sweet Sixteen. During this time Yale had produced multiple professionals in the NBA, most notable Miye Oni of the Utah Jazz, along with G-League and Ivy League players of the year. During his final season at Yale, he was an assistant coach at the 2018 Final Four in San Antonio for the Reese's All-Star Game.
He was also the video coordinator at Delaware for the 2014-15 season, assistant head coach at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy from 2013-14, and an assistant at American International College from 2010-12. The 2011 AIC squad made the NCAA Division II Tournament as a #2 seed in the East Region and finished 20-9.
Additionally, Vincent served as an assistant video coordinator and assistant to the head coach for the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun in 2012 for Mike Thibault, the current Washington Mystics head coach and the all-time winningest coach in the WNBA. While with the Sun he broke down opponent’s film and tendencies, while also assisting to daily coaching meetings discussing game plans, practice plans and player evaluations. Vincent also conducted individual workouts with the Sun players, and assisted in formulating scouting reports. The Connecticut Sun made the Eastern Conference Finals during this time.
Vincent earned his degree in sports management from Springfield College (Mass.) in 2013.
