Jon Warren

Jon Warren is entering his third season on staff as serves as recruiting coordinator and assistant coach for the Lions.As an Assistant Coach Warren has helped the program go a combined 92-13 and being ranked in the top 3 in the country in each season. 
 
After inheriting a program that went 1-27 in 2022, the Lions completed the single biggest turnaround in the history of college basketball. Langston finished the season at 31-3 overall and climbed to No. 3 in the national polls. The program became the first ever HBCU to win the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season crown along with capturing the SAC Conference Tournament Championship. The Lions advanced to the NAIA Sweet 16 in Kansas City before falling to Georgetown College.

The 2023-2024 season saw the Lions post a 35-2 record capped off by a trip to the NAIA National Championship Game. Langston spent much of the season ranked No.2 in the national polls. For the second consecutive season, the Lions ran away with the Sooner Athletic Conference title by going 23-1 and winning the SAC Conference Tournament. 
 
The Lions started the 2025-2026 season ranked No.1 in the country despite returning zero rotation players from the previous season. Langston finished the season at 26-8, capturing their third consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament championship and advanced to the NAIA Sweet 16 where they were beat by eventual national champion College of Idaho.

Prior to Langston, Warren spent two seasons on staff at Talladega College under Coach Wright. The program went a combined 57-10, capped off by an appearance in the 2022 NAIA National Championship game that saw the Tornadoes fall to conference foe Loyola University New Orleans. Only two HBCU's have appeared in the NAIA National Title game since 1987, and Warren has been a member of both of those staffs. 

Warren served as a team captain for three years as he played for Coach Wright at Central Baptist College for one season and then for two seasons at Talladega College. Warren graduated with his bachelor's degree from Talladega in 2020.

During that time, he tallied 69 wins and three trips to the NAIA National Tournament. Warren was also named to the AMC All-Defensive Team in 2017-2018.
