Lady Lions Sweep Central Christian

LANGSTON – In their final home game of the season the Langston Lady Lions managed to sweep the Central Christian Tigers 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-10) on Friday night inside the C.F. Gayles Field House.

Both squads came out firing in the opening set with the Lady Lions prevailing 25-21. In the following sets the Lady Lions built commanding leads that proved too much for Central Christian to overcome as Langston improved to 9-17 overall on the season.

In the second set the Lady Lions jumped out to a 10-3 advantage and eventually defeated Central Christian by a final score of 25-16. In the third and final set, Langston again built a comfortable 11-4 lead and ultimately swept the Tigers 25-10.

Kiyah Hedge and Antonese Tatum tied for the team lead in kills with 14. Finehika Uhatafe registered 23 assists and Samantha Clements tallied 23 digs.

Langston (9-17, 4-14 SAC) travels to face Mid-America Christian on Friday, Nov. 5. Opening serve set for 7 p.m.
