Football Falls in Overtime 40-37 to Firestorm

LANGSTON – The Langston University Lions fell short in overtime to Arizona Christian 40-37 on Saturday at W.E. Anderson Stadium.

In overtime the Lions' Hunter Elliott converted a 26-yard field goal to put Langton in front 37-34. On the ensuing possession Arizona Christian faced a first-and-10 from the Langston 12-yard line and sealed the win with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Duncan to Jon Cole.

The top-25 matchup didn't disappoint offensively which featured 10 touchdowns and three field goals.

Larry Harrington led Langston, finishing 18-of-29 for 235 yards with three touchdowns. Ger'Kerry Jackson anchored the ground attack, tallying 81 yards on 25 carries with one score.

Trevon Billington tallied three receptions for 77 yards with one touchdown.

Devin Dourisseau led the Lions on defense with seven total tackles. Loren Young finished with four tackles including two sacks and Malcolm Johnson had the lone interception on the day.

Langston (7-2, 6-2 SAC) hosts Southwestern Assemblies of God on Saturday, Nov. 13 at W.E. Anderson Stadium. Kickoff time is set for 4 p.m.
