Langston University Announces Leadership Change for Football

LANGSTON, Okla.—Langston University and Director of Athletics Donnita Rogers announced that, after 10 seasons at the helm, head football coach Quinton Morgan will not return next season.

"We would like to thank Coach Morgan for his service, dedication and commitment to Langston University for the past 10 years serving as head coach," Rogers said.

Langston University will begin a national search for a new head coach immediately.

Morgan wrapped up his 10th year leading the Langston University Lions football program after being promoted to head football coach in December 2015 following nine years serving in various capacities on the football staff.

Morgan's teams posted a record of 68-33 during his 10 years as head coach and interim head coach, which included a 59-23 mark in conference play. Additionally, Morgan led Langston University to consecutive berths in the NAIA Football Championship Series Opening Round in 2017 and 2018, as well as three straight conference championships in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

He is the second winningest coach in Langston University football history, only trailing C.F. 'Zip' Gayles who coached LU from 1930-1957.
