Women's Basketball Defeats OPSU 72-66

LANGSTON – Asheika Alexander led a quartet of double-digit scorers as the Langston University Lady Lions returned to win column, defeating Oklahoma Panhandle State 72-66 on Saturday, Dec. 4.

The Lady Lions trailed 32-29 entering the third quarter when Langston reversed course, outscoring the Aggies 21-14 to surge ahead 50-46. In the final frame the Lady Lions outscored OPSU 22-20 to seal the 72-66 victory.

Langston improved to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Alexander led the Lady Lions with a total of 23 points on seven-of-16 shooting with six rebounds. Taliyah Harris added 17, Jada Spence chipped in 14 and Grace Williams finished with 10 points to round out the double-digit scorers.

Langston (9-2, 4-1) hosts Central Christian on Thursday, Dec. 9. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
