Lady Lions Fall Short at MACU

OKLAHOMA CITY – Three players scored in double figures but the Langston University Lady Lions fell short in their conference opener 89-68 to Mid-America Christian on Wednesday at the Gaulke Activity Center.

Tied at halftime 36-36, the Evangels used a pivotal 28-16 third quarter to widen their lead and held on to defeat the Lady Lions. The loss drops Langston to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Kameron Shelley led Langston in scoring with 17, Hailey Jordan added 16 and Koreea Kirksey tallied 15 points. Anyia Pride managed to haul in 10 rebounds on the night.

Langston (5-2, 0-1 SAC) returns to court on Saturday to host Southwestern Christian. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
