Lady Lions Fall in DH to Texas Wesleyan

LANGSTON – In their first matchup of the season the Langston University Lady Lions fell short 8-3 and 9-0 to Texas Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon.

In the opener the Rams held a 2-1 lead entering the seventh inning. Texas Wesleyan picked up six runs on five hits and two errors to surge ahead of Langston 8-1.

Aubrea Hall and Rachel Miller both homered in the bottom of the seventh to trim the lead to 8-3 but the Lady Lions would get no closer in the 8-3 decision.

Hall finished one-for-three on the day and Miller went two-for-three with two solo homeruns. McKenzie Connor picked up the loss, allowing three earned runs in six innings of work.

In the finale, Texas Wesleyan carried their momentum into game two to defeat Langston 9-0.

Langston (7-11, 1-3 SAC) returns home to face the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 22. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
