No. 7 Langston Knock Off Rams 79-64

EDMOND – Three players scored in double figures as the No. 7 Langston University Lions defeated Texas Wesleyan 79-64 to push their winning streak to 15 on Saturday evening at Hamilton Field House.

D'Monte Brown led Langston in scoring with 19 points on seven-of-12 shooting in 33 minutes of action. Toru Dean finished second on the team in points with 16 and James Ellis tallied a season-high 12 points on the night.

The Lions led 43-30 at halftime and led by as much as 21 points in the second half in the 79-64 victory.

"I thought we defended a lot better tonight than we did on Thursday," Langston University head coach Chris Wright said. "At the end of the day we hang our hat on what we do defensively and if we guard at a high level consistently, we will be tough to beat."

Collectively, Langston hit 50 percent (27-of-53) from the field and finished 23-of-33 from the free throw line. The Lions managed to force 21 turnovers and collected 22 points off Texas Wesleyan's turnovers.

No. 7 Langston (15-0, 9-0 SAC) travels to face Southwestern Assemblies of God on Thursday, Jan. 12. Tip-off time is set for 7:45 p.m. in Waxahachie, Texas.
