No. 4 Langston Defeats William Woods in Season Opener

LANGSTON – Four players scored in double figures as the No. 4 Langston University Lions opened their season with a 79-72 victory over William Woods University at C.F. Gayles Field House on Saturday morning.

The Lions came out roaring in the first half, leading the Owls 43-23 at halftime. Langston led by as much as 23 points despite the Owls managing to cut the lead to eight points at the 3:52 mark in the second half.

Ronald Mitchell Jr led Langston in scoring with 20 points overall. Anthony Roy finished with 19 points along with G'Quavious Lennox and D'Monte Brown racking up 11 points apiece.

Langston (1-0) is back in action on Saturday, Nov. 11 versus Midland University at home. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
